Weekly Prayer

Today is Tuesday, as you may have noticed, I’m a day late with our weekly prayer. I’ve decided to just give myself some grace on that score. Tuesdays can be just as difficult as Mondays and every day is a prayer day. Would you like to pray with me?

This morning while thinking about what to post, my eyes ran across Job 42. It’s the last chapter in the book of Job and it tells his restoration story. This book says “When Job prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes.” (Job 42:10 NLT) Job had sat in repentance, his friends had sacrificed in repentance, and then Job prayed. The ending says he lived a long life, witnessing four generations of his family live.

Friends, we serve the God of restoration. He has raised many from the dead and restored the fortunes of many. So, if you’re like me today and things don’t look the way you thought they would, I might say to you look around and see where your story is one of restoration. He works miracles right before our eyes and redeems us from our struggles.

Let’s pray.

Heavenly Father, today we’re here in front of you praying for restoration. Maybe things don’t look the way we think they should or maybe times are just hard. We come to you in prayer as Job did at the end of his abilities, at the end of his knowledge, at the end of it all. We ask for your miracles and ask that you raise us up in this season of life. We ask that you prop us up when things are hard and remind us of your unfailing mercies. In today’s world, there are thousands of struggles – loss, pain, heartbreak, aches, illnesses, and so much more. Remind us of who you are and bring the peace that only you can bring. Help us remember and see the goodness of who you are in the middle of the struggle. Remind us that you don’t leave us when times get tough and that you fight battles for us when we’re not strong enough. Heal our wounds as only you can do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

I encourage you to read Job 42 today. Be encouraged that God sees us in the struggle and he is the God of restoration. As always, if you need prayer you may email or comment below. If you see a comment, pray for the person. Happy Tuesday Friend.
